Gift Vouchers – The Perfect Stocking Filler

DiFontaine's Pizzeria Gift Vouchers for all the Pizza Lovers in your Life

Gift Vouchers for Pizza

I’m sure you can think of a few pizza lovers amongst your friends and family who would love Gift Vouchers from DiFontaine’s Pizzeria in their Christmas stocking this year.

Never mind Christmas though…..wouldn’t they make a great gift for any student in your life? Think about it. You’re at college in Dublin’s City Centre and low on the old funds….drop into us for one of our HUGE slices of pizza for as little as €3.50 and that’s lunch sorted.

Vegan Pizza Dublin

The Vegan Pizza everyone is raving about

As you know, here at DiFontaine’s we are known for our huge 20″ pizza pies…..authentic New York pizza made fresh daily, and a selection of 15 different varieties to choose from.  For a long time though the vegan community had been asking us if we would introduce a vegan pizza.  So, we went to work researching different vegan cheese offerings available from far an wide and testing different variations. (Big shout out to the Veghuns for their support and advice on this). Then back in October we enlisted the help of the vegan community by having a Vegan Pizza Tasting Evening, where we had three different pies on offer and asked people to vote for the one the liked the best – and there was an brilliant turnout!

Vegan Pizza Tasting Evening

And the Vegan Pizza winner is…………

………..And so our homemade cashew ricotta with Follow Your Heart blend of Mozzarella and Parmesan shreds vegan pizza was born.  AND if you wish, you can add on our nutritional yeast/chili flakes mix from the shaker at the counter.

It joined the menu officially on 2nd November at 5pm to an incredble response.

Pay It Forward pizza

Paying It Forward – Will you consider it?

Paying It Forward #PIF

As you know we are part of the Pay It Forward idea. We’ve been running this since we opened, 6 years ago. Paying It Foward works like this:

● You buy your pizza slice, for you.
● You pay for another slice, for someone else.
● We suspend it.
● We offer it to someone in need.

Good Cause

But as well as this, every so often we also like to pay it forward by sponsoring a good cause. So when Ger Fleming got in touch with us and told us about his plan to travel, later this year in October, with a medical team with Chernobyl Children International alongside Adi Roche to volunteer in Belarus in the Vesnova Asylum for children this year, we were delighted to be able to help in our own little way.

Chernobyl Children Fundraiser

The Fundraiser Event

In order for him to make this trip he and his partner Mark Sherwood need to raise the money to do it themselves, so he decided to run a fundraiser night in July.

Vegan pizza birthday girl

Special Vegan Pizza for the Birthday Girl

Vegan Pizza Birthday/Vegananniversary Surprise

We absolutely love making our customers happy, so when we were approached to help make this young lady’s birthday extra special, we jumped at the chance.  As a vegan she missed our regular pizza’s so much, so her girlfriend organised to bring in vegan cheese that she sourced from a few different places “mainly Cheezly, then three others that came from the UK shop @vxlondon“, and we made her a special vegan pizza all of her own.

AND as well as being her birthday, it was her 2 year vegananniversary too! So, what better way to celebrate 🙂 (We also had a little bunch of flowers waiting for her as well).

And here’s the proof. Although is it just us or was this beautiful girl hit with the ageless beauty stick? 2 flippin years have gone by and she hasn’t aged a bit. (Jealousy gets you nowhere Lol!)

Pizza Love!

Long Distance Pizza Love

When Toronto born Elisia Mirabelli decided that she wanted to surprise her Irish boyfriend Jason Lord with a special birthday treat, she thought what better than a heart-shaped pizza to show her pizza love! So she contacted us all the way from Canada asking if we could oblige.

Well of course since we just love a bit of romace here at DiFontaine’s Pizzeria, we said a huge big YES! ABSOLUTELY!

So we got busy…………..

It may well be the first time we have been asked for such a beauty in all the years we’ve been around here on Parliament Street in Dublin. Even our pizza chefs got into the spirit of it. They had great fun making it.

The Love Story

Elisia and Jason have been together 8 years. They met in 2009 when Jason was living in Toronto. Although obviously very much in love disaster nearly struck last year :-D.  As Elisia says  “I almost forgot his birthday last year so I had to really make up for it this time around”.

They’ve made us a very, very happy bunch and we want to SHOUT about it! 🙂

“If your looking for some NY style pizza, look no further. Located in the heart of the city, you won’t have to go on a drunken gallop to get yourself some cheesy goodness.”

We’re Supporting Headstuff

Teaming up with Headstuff

HeadStuff-Lectures

We are delighted to support Headstuff Lectures held in The Workman’s Club on Wellington Quay in Dublin, just around the corner from us, on the first Wednesday of every month. Wonderful speakers talking passionately about different topics. As they say themselves, “they could be about frog memes or democratic revolutions. They could also be about Erwin Schrodinger or Paris Hilton. Or anything in between…HeadStuff Lectures are not mass, not school and definitely not Ted Talks.”

We especially love that their mission is to support and facilitate contributors of high quality content and that they make this so accessible to their audience. And they say that every penny given goes to their contributors.

Oh! And that Tara Flynn writes a weekly column for them. What’s not to love.

Next Headstuff Lecture is on Monday 7th December
